Uncertainty Calculations for Reference Measurement Procedures
Liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (LC/MS) allows for the molecular detection and quantification of a multitude of analytes from clinical samples. The analyte quantification must be accompanied by a sound characterization of measurement uncertainty. In this Presentation, the Authors describe different approaches to calculate the uncertainty of LC/MS reference measurement procedures, and a framework for their practical implementation.

Establishing Metrological Traceability Based on the Example of Cortisol
Mass spectrometry (MS)-based in vitro diagnostics constitute powerful tools for disease detection and therapy monitoring. These techniques must rely on the use of highly characterized, International Systems of Units (SI Units)-traceable reference materials to meet the quality requirements of highest order reference measurement procedures (RMP). In this Poster, the Authors describe a strategy for the establishment of a clinically relevant, reliable MS-based RMP and service using the example of cortisol.
