Assessment of upper extremity function and performance fatigability in multiple sclerosis using sensor-based features derived from the smartphone-based Pinching Test
The Pinching Test, part of the Floodlight™ MS app, is a remote, smartphone sensor-based assessment allowing sensitive and frequent measurements of upper extremity function in people living with multiple sclerosis (PLwMS). Pinching, inertial measurement unit, and fatigability features of the Pinching Test used in a provisioned proof-of-concept precursor to Floodlight MS, were analysed for a cohort of 67 PLwMS and 18 healthy controls. Test-retest reliability, agreement with gold standard clinical outcomes, known-groups discriminant validity and information shared between features were explored.
