Measurement of subcategories of restricted and repetitive behaviors across age and intellectual functioning in a large ASD Sample

Studies on the measurement structure of the Repetitive Behavior Scale-Revised (RBS-R) have produced inconsistent findings, impeding progress in the conceptualization and measurement of RRBs in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Here we used Multidimensional Item Response Theory to determine the factor structure of the RBS-R in data from 3,430 individuals with ASD and assess the scale structure across developmental stages and levels of intellectual functioning. Clinical trial simulations assessed the implications of the scale structure.
