Candida auris is an emerging multidrug-resistant pathogen and has been associated with nosocomial outbreaks across the world. This study reports the performance of a rapid and automated high-throughput research-use-only (RUO) C. auris assay on the cobas omni Utility Channel (UC) using the cobas 6800 system. This RUO assay can detect all clades of C. auris without cross-reacting with other closely related Candida species and can process between 144 and 1056 samples per an 8-h shift on the cobas 5800 and 8800 systems, respectively. This test is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic procedures.
