Performance comparison of cobas e 801, Alinity s, and Alinity i serological screening parameters
Single-centre study evaluating the diagnostic performance of the Elecsys® infectious disease immunoassays on the cobas e 801 analytical unit of cobas® pro integrated solutions (all Roche Diagnostics International Ltd, Rotkreuz, Switzerland) for the detection of hepatitis B virus, hepatitis C virus, human immunodeficiency virus, syphilis, Chagas and human T-lymphotropic virus, versus commercially available immunoassays used in routine screening. Specificities were calculated for the Elecsys infectious disease immunoassays on the cobas 801 analytical unit and compared with the specificities of the respective immunoassays on Alinity S or Alinity I analysers.

Performance of the cobas e 601 serology platform for screening of donor blood for transfusion-transmissible infections in Uganda Blood Transfusion Service
The Uganda Blood Transfusion Service (UBTS) screens approximately 300,000 blood units for transfusion-transmissible infections annually. In this study, the authors comparatively evaluated the performance of the cobas® e 601 serology platform (Roche Diagnostics International Ltd) and the Architect i2000/Fortress/Immucor NEO algorithm, which is used at UBTS for routine donor blood screening. cobas e 601 showed a slightly better performance than Architect i2000 for HIV and HBsAg assays, and it provided fewer false reactive results in the HCV assay. For the syphilis assay, cobas e 601 also showed a higher relative specificity and sensitivity than NEO. These results indicate the potential utility of cobas e 601 for blood donor screening in UBTS.

Video: Multicentre performance evaluation of the Elecsys HCV Duo immunoassay
This international, multicentre study evaluated the diagnostic accuracy of the Elecsys HCV Duo immunoassay (Roche Diagnostics GmbH) on the cobas e 801 analyser (Roche Diagnostics International Ltd) for the detection of hepatitis C virus infection versus commercially available comparator assays. Specificity and sensitivity analyses were conducted for the Elecsys HCV Duo immunoassay, and the diagnostic window was evaluated versus polymerase chain reaction testing.
